JAVA Application Developer and Support Specialist

MDB Consulting, LLC of Ann Arbor, MI and Austin, TX provides consulting services to large clinical health care providers in Texas and Wisconsin. We have several positions in the medical informatics and JAVA application development fields. Excellent communication skills are required.

We are looking for a consultant to develop and support JAVA thick client applications for Intensive Care Unit workstation clients which are connected to ORACLE back end databases.

• You will work mainly from your home office using MDB-provided equipment.
• Occasional travel is required.
• Estimated hours are 30-40 hours per week.
• A trial period of 6 months is required to ensure the home office and flexible hours work well for both parties.

• Work directly with MDB managers to set requirements, develop, and support applications.
• Provide maintenance and customer support for Intensive Care Unit Applications.

• JAVA Swing development experience
• Experience with SQL Server or Oracle Databases
• Proficient with the NetBeans technology, Java Database packages, and Spring 2 Framework ( a plus )
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain JAVA thick client applications
• Proven ability to work independently and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required

 MDB Consulting requires at least three years of experience in
 commercial settings for support positions. In technical
 positions we require at least four years of experience with
 professional software development positions.

 MDB professionals must have a college degree or equivalent
 experience. Experience with either JAVA based or Windows
 based applications is a plus. Relational database experience
 is desired. ORACLE experience is preferred. Experience with
 WEB applications and WEB services is also a plus. Not all of
 these qualifications need to be posessed by an individual
 candidate. These qualifications are representitive of
 the attributes we are looking for in potential professionals.
